Elena Carrossa
Music Director for Choir on the Hill
Musician, Performer, and Educator
With over two decades of experience in the music sector, I have established myself as a versatile and passionate musician, lyricist, and educator. My musical journey began at a young age, and since then, I’ve embraced every opportunity to learn, perform, and teach across a variety of genres and platforms. Specializing in pop, jazz, and classical music, I combine technical skill with an in-depth understanding of music theory, performance, and songwriting to deliver both moving performances and engaging educational experiences.
Musical Education and Development
My formal music education began with pop guitar at the Agemus School of Padova between 1991 and 1993. From there, I transitioned to piano studies at the E. Fuà Fusinato School of Padova from 1997 to 1999, before moving on to music theory and vocal techniques at Scuola Adelino Marchiori from 2000 to 2004.

In 2009, I attended jazz clinics led by teachers from Berklee College of Music during the Umbria Jazz Festival, an experience that profoundly shaped my approach to jazz performance and improvisation. My commitment to continuous learning extended through my studies at Berklee Online, where I completed courses in lyric writing in 2015 and a modern musician program in 2016. These studies enhanced my technical expertise in songwriting and gave me a deeper insight into the modern music industry.
Stage Experience
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to perform on various stages, from choir settings to solo roles. I spent five years as a soprano in the choir of the Church of S. Teresa di G.B. in Padova (1991-1996), and from 1996 to 1998, I performed as a solo soprano with the operatic choir Polifonico Luca Marenzio, collaborating with the Young Orchestra of Padua and Veneto.

My career as a solo vocalist grew between 2000 and 2004, studying and occasionally performing with Lupiajazz Big Band and collaborating with local rock and blues bands. From 2006 to 2014, I expanded my performance repertoire as a singer and actress in the musical theatre company Cuori Con Le Ali, where I performed in productions for children and families across Northern Italy. I also had the opportunity to perform live on television, appearing on AntennaTre in 2008 with Cuori Con Le Ali.

Since 2010, I have been part of the Settemeno Duo with Leonardo Landini, performing at renowned jazz festivals across Italy and showcasing my passion for jazz performance.
Lyrics Writing and Music Projects
I have been a freelance lyricist since 2014, collaborating with well-known artists to write lyrics for their songs. I have also worked on educational music projects, most notably with the Italian publisher Oragiovane since 2019, leading the music composition and production for their summer programs. My work in this area involves creating catchy, educational songs that blend storytelling with music. I also collaborate with ERREKAPPA Edizioni, writing and recording songs to accompany educational books.
Music Education and Teaching
As an educator, I have a strong commitment to teaching music to diverse audiences. Since 2020, I have taught music privately and at institutions like Bromley Conservatoire. At Bromley, I currently teach singing, music theory, and music appreciation, focusing on early years through programs like Little Maestros. Additionally, I work with primary schools through the Stretto agency, bringing music education to young students at several schools in London
